Oyinlomo Quadre advanced to her fourth national final, following a straightforward victory over defending champion, Blessing Samuel at the Vemp Open in Abuja today.
The 16-year-old No. 1, was never in trouble against Samuel, 29, and cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the National Tennis Centre.
Samuel, bidding to defend her title, had lost to the teenager a week ago in the semifinals of the Rainoil Open in Lagos, and again fell short to the power of the youngster.
Quadre will now take on 37-year-old Christie Agugbom for the women’s singles title here on Saturday – the pair’s third final this year.

Christie Agugbom played Oyinlomo Quadre at the CBN Open and Rainoil Open finals. They will meet again on Saturday.
Agugbom defeated Ibironke Oladipo 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 to reach the final. Oladipo, after losing the first set, overpowered her opponent to clinch the second set and force a third set. But Agugbom would regroup in the third, jumping to a 5-2 lead. Despite Oladipo pulling back to 5-4, her attempts to turn the tables weren’t enough, as Agugbom steadied to serve out the match and book a place in the final.
In the women’s doubles final, Omolayo Bamidele and Oyinlomo Quadre claimed the title with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Christie Agugbom and Blessing Samuel.
