The organizers of the Vemp National Open have now decided to postpone this year’s tournament. They cited scheduling issues as the reason behind that decision.
The organizing committee were unable to find an appropriate date because of the National Sports Festival which has been scheduled for the 3rd-18th of December, 2020. Hence, the postponement of the tournament.
However, the organizers will now make efforts to hold the 3rd edition of the tournament, which was supposed to hold this year, sometimes early in 2021.
Recall that last year’s edition saw Sylvester Emmanuel win the men’s singles and Oyinlomo Quadre in the women’s singles, making them the defending champions, whenever the tournament goes underway.
