The Dala Hard Court Tennis Championship is usually the season’s final national tournament in Nigeria. It is available to only Nigerian Players and it is always played between the month of November and December every year in Kano.
The Tournament started in the year 1986 in the ancient city of Kano and till now its still the biggest Tennis National Tournament in the Northern part of Nigeria and also the 2nd oldest National Tournament in Nigeria. It has gotten different sponsors along the years with the most notable ones being Dangote Group, Fidelity Bank Plc, First Bank of Nigeria Plc as well as other corporate organisations and individuals.
It is a week long tournament with competition available in different categories such as the Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles and the Women’s Doubles.
The Tournament is played on Hard Court just as the name signifies and The Prize Money for the Men’s Singles Champion is N1,000,000 while the Women’s Singles Champion goes home with N600,000.
