The six-player Nigerian team departed Lagos today, Sunday in preparation for the 3rd ITF/CAT African Junior Championship 12 & Under qualifying event in Cotonou, Benin Republic.

The players, having trained individually, will now collectively head to the training camp that’s been set up by the Confederation of African Tennis in Cotonou for two days—Monday and Tuesday—before the tournament begins on the Wednesday, 6 March.

Having made good impressions on the ITA Junior Circuit in Nigeria, the players, led by tennis maestro, Abdulmumin Babalola, are surely in high spirits as they seek qualification to the African Junior Finals in Morocco, which will take place in September.

The youngsters left Lagos at about 11:30am today and should be in Benin before sunset.
