The final qualifying round matches at the Rainoil Open take centre stage at the Lagos Country Club, Ikeja, on Sunday, with players set to make one last push for a place in the main draw of this week’s event.
David Dawariye and Emmanuel Onyejiaka, who both had a day of rest after securing easy first round wins on Friday, will now clash for a spot in the men’s singles main draw. In another match, Nasiru Sanni confronts Gabriel Friday.
On Court 6, Wilson Igbinovia and Michael Ayoola, both of whom scored quick straight-sets victories on Saturday, will square off in a final-rounder.
In the women’s field, Omotayo Osewa, who didn’t drop a game in defeating Oluchi Igwe 6-0, 6-0 in the first round on Saturday, will look to carry that form into her final qualifying round match against Fatimah Ganiyu, who was also as impressive, with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Bose Bamidele.
Away on Court 4, Nene Yakubu takes on Jesutoyosi Adeusi before Toyin Asogba and Mariam Ali-Balogun square off on the same court for a spot in the women’s singles draw.
