Quadre begins African Closed Junior Championships campaign in Pretoria

Oyinlomo Quadre will be in action at the individual event of the ITF/CAT African Closed Junior Under-18 Championships in Pretoria, South Africa this week.

Quadre is seeded third in the girls singles draw and will battle other African youngsters for top honours in the hard-court event.

The 16-year-old is fresh off an impressive title-run at the J3 Pretoria last week — her first title of the 2020 season — and will come into this week’s competition brimming with confidence.

She takes on South Africa’s Delien Kleinhans in the first round on Monday. Kleinhans, 17, also competed at the J3 Pretoria last week, where she reached the second round. Monday’s contest will be a first time meeting between both girls.
