Nigeria had a memorable outing at the African Games in Rabat, Morocco, with the tennis team securing two Bronze medals.

16-year-old Oyinlomo Quadre posted a stunning run to the women’s singles semifinals, and so, clinched Bronze in that category.

Nigeria would qualify for the women’s team event and having lost in the semifinals to Morocco, settled for a third-place match against Kenya, which they won- Oyinlomo Quadre and Adesuwa Osabuohein securing the win over two singles’ rubbers against the East Africans.

Blessing Samuel, Aanu Aiyegbusi, Adesuwa Osabuohein and Oyinlomo Quadre all competed in the women’s category, while Joseph Imeh, Sylvester Emmanuel, Thomas Otu and Emmanuel Sunday played in the men’s category. The team was led by Coach Rotimi Akinloye, the NTF Technical Director, and Abdulmumin Babalola, Junior Head Coach in Nigeria.
