Rising star, Oyinlomo Quadre will compete at the 2020 ITF/CAT African Closed Junior 18 & Under Championship in Benoni, South Africa this month.

The African Closed Junior U18 Championship, which is organized by the Confederation of African Tennis in conjunction with the International Tennis Federation and Tennis South Africa, will have its individual competition from 10 – 14 February at the Tuks Tennis Courts.

Quadre alongside players from other African nations will slug it out for top honours in the girls field, which has a main draw singles size of 32.

However, before the AJC event, the 16-year-old will be in action at the TSA Junior ITF Pretoria 3—an ITF Grade 3 hard-court tournament in Pretoria from Monday, 3 February.

Quadre, who’s currently ranked 197 on the ITF World Junior Rankings, enjoyed a remarkable 2019 season in which she notably won 3 ITF Junior titles (J3 Megrine, J4 Cotonou and J5 Abuja).

The teenager, however, hasn’t had the finest start to the 2020 season, with early exits coming in both legs of the J2 Tunis in Tunisia, in January. She will now be looking to return to winning ways.

The J3 Pretoria is live at the Rietondale Tennis Club from 3 – 8 February, while the African Closed Junior Under-18 Championship takes place from 10 February.
