15-year-old sensation, Oyinlomo Quadre defeated Denmark’s Divine Nweke in straight sets to emerge victorious in the second leg of the U-18 ITF Junior Circuit tournament in Lome, Togo on Saturday.

Quadre, who dropped only a set all week, breezed to a 6-2 opening set win, but was pegged back in the second by the 14-year-old Nweke, who put up a determined display; a tiebreaker ensued but the Dane couldn’t do enough to break Quadre’s resistance and force a third set as the Nigerian closed out the match and clinched the title with a 6-2, 7-6(5) victory.

It’s a second title for Quadre in the space of three weeks, having claimed the Lifetime Athletic Open in Ghana on 1 September.

Quadre, this week, has impressively made up for a lacklustre performance in the first leg of the U-18 ITF event by clinching both the singles and doubles title (partnering with Cameroon’s Anna Lemongo), and will now turn her attention to another ITF event billed to take place in Benin Republic.
