Teen sensation, Oyinlomo Quadre, outlasted Emma Aucagne of France in three sets to reach the semifinals of the ITF Junior Tennis Club de Megrine in Tunisia on Friday.

Quadre recorded a 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 victory over the French qualifier to make her first semifinals on the ITF Junior Circuit this season.

Quadre is enjoying a good run of form, having clinched a third-place finish at the African Junior Closed Championships for Under 16s in Hammamet a week ago. The young Nigerian will now be seeking to keep up the momentum when she takes on Russia’s Alina Shcherbinina for a place in the final in Megrine.

Shcherbinina, 15, defeated Britain’s Matilda Mutavdzic 6-3, 7-5 to advance. The Russian hasn’t dropped a set so far and is equally in good form, having made a title-winning run at the Grade 4 event in Marsa, Malta, a week ago.

Saturday’s semi-final showdown between both youngsters will be the first time both girls go head-to-head.
