The Nigeria Tennis Umpires Association will have its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 11 January in Asaba, Delta State.
The one-day gathering, which will take place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, will see all umpires in the country in attendance.
The officials will arrive Friday, 10 January, with a 50% discount on accommodation on Friday already in place. Among the programme of event will be a refresher course for the officials, which will kick-start the AGM by 12:00pm.
The course, which will run for at least an hour, will be on line and chair umpiring to let umpires know what will be expected of them as line and chair officials. The Chairman of the Umpires Association, Mr. Kehinde Ijaola, disclosed that the refresher course will be done to enable the umpires be at their best all year.
The second session of the AGM will have discussions on the constitution for the Umpires Association, as well as speakers who will talk on the Advantage All Seminar that held in South Africa, in September last year, and the Officiating Managers Workshop which held in Tunisia, in December 2019.
A polity document which will guide the activities of officials on and off the court as well as the achievements of the association in the past year will also be among the programme of events.
