Youngsters, Musa Mohammed, Canice Abua and David Ekpenyong were among six Nigerians who won their qualifying matches to book main draw spots at the NTF International Junior Championships in Abuja today.
Musa Mohammed secured his main draw spot without any trouble, as he produced an immaculate performance to thrash Ojo Fredrick 6-0, 6-0.
Canice Abua, the National Youth Games boys champion, made light work of Folarin Olowogbile, winning 6-1, 6-1, while David Ekpenyong put up a solid display to claim a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Benjamin Ayuba.
Elsewhere, Michael Emmanuel dropped just a game in a 6-0, 6-1 dismissal of Gadaffi Yakubu, while Musa Sani sped past Uche Emeruwa 6-0, 6-2. Rubi Toba also made it through, following a straightforward 6-0, 6-2 victory over Ojente Azamata.
Habila Haggai and Bulus Bulus secured qualification without having to play as they both received byes.
Main draw action gets underway on Tuesday, 5 November at the National Tennis Centre, Abuja.
