Oyinlomo Quadre came up short in her opening round match at the ITF Grade 2 tournament in Tunis today.
The 16-year-old lost 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 to Lois Boisson of France. Quadre had leveled matters in the second set to force a final set, but just couldn’t edge the French in the decider.
It was only the youngster’s second singles match of the 2020 season. In the doubles she teamed up with Algeria’s Ines Bekrar, but the duo failed to get past the British pair of Kylie Bilchev and Eva Shaw, who ran out 7-6, 6-1 winners.
Quadre will now shift her focus to next week’s TSA Junior ITF Pretoria 3 in South Africa, where she’s been listed in the girls main draw.
