The dates for the 2020 ITF World Tennis Tour tournaments in Abuja have been released.

The ITF World Tennis Tour in Abuja will have players from all over the world competing for ATP and ITF ranking points as well as a share of the $75,000 total prize money pot.

This year’s event will begin in March. The Tombim Abuja Open, the first of three consecutive events, will get underway 30 March to 5 April. The Dayak Tennis Championship, which is the second event, will hold from 6 – 12 April, while the GSL Open, the third and final event, will take centre stage from 13 – 19 April. All tennis action will be at the National Tennis Centre- National Stadium Package B, Abuja.

All three events, known as M25+H Abuja, have a prize money pot of $25,000 each. Last year, Sadio Doumbia of France claimed the Tombim Abuja Open singles title, Tom Jomby, who’s also French, clinched the Dayak Tennis Championship singles title, and Dan Added, another Frenchman, prevailed at the GSL Open.

The Tombim Abuja Open, sponsored by Mr. Edmond Ajoge, began in 2015, while the Dayak Tennis Championship, sponsored by the NTF President, Engr. Dayo Akindoju, had its inaugural edition in 2016. The GSL Open is sponsored by Mr. Bayo Okusanya and began in 2017.

There are only two categories in each of the three tournaments—the men’s singles and men’s doubles. The $25,000 prize money in each event is shared among players from the 1st round of qualifying to the main draw winner.
