Nigerian sensation, Oyinlomo Quadre, kept up her brilliant run of form with a three-sets victory over Russia’s Alina Shcherbinina to reach the final of the ITF Junior Tennis Club de Megrine in Tunisia today.

Quadre battled back from a set down to beat the Russian 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 and advance to her first final on the ITF Junior Circuit this year.

Shcherbinina had come into the tournament in Megrine on the back of a title-winning run at the Grade 4 event in Marsa, Malta, and had powered through to the semifinals without dropping a set.

Against Quadre in the semis, the fifth seed did enough to secure the first set. But the young Nigerian bounced back in the second set, producing a clinical performance to take the set and force a decider. There was no way back in for the Russian, as the 15-year-old Quadre put her foot down in the final set to cruise through to victory.

Quadre will now take on 6th seed, Maria Bondarenko of Russia, in Sunday’s final.
