Alex Adewale brushed Wasiu Yusuf aside to continue his dominance in the wheelchair men’s singles category at the CBN Open.
Adewale hammered the former Africa’s No.1, 6-0, 6-1 to claim his 7th consecutive CBN Open title in Abuja on Saturday. No other player has lifted the men’s title since wheelchair tennis got introduced at the CBN Open in 2013.
In the women’s final, Kafayat Omisore secured a hard-fought 4-6, 6-4, 11-9 victory to win her third straight title.
Omisore had lost the first set, but bounced back with some spirited effort to clinch the second set, thereby forcing a super tie-break, which she narrowly won to seal victory.
