Nigeria lost to host nation, Morocco in the semifinals of the African Games women’s team event in Rabat on Friday.
Morocco claimed victory in the two singles’ rubbers, with Rita Atik defeating Adesuwa Osabuohein 6-1, 6-0 and Salma Ziouti edging Oyinlomo Quadre 7-6(6), 6-1.
Nigeria will now take on Kenya in a third-place match on Saturday. Kenya had lost the other semifinal contest to Egypt.
Egypt and Morocco will face off in the final for a chance to claim Gold.
The four teams were selected via point calculation, with Nigeria qualifying for the women’s team event after Egypt and Morocco.
