Having bowed out in the opening round of the African Closed Junior Championships 18 & Under event in Marrakech on Monday, Nigeria’s Oyinlomo Quadre shifted her focus to the doubles event, and partnered with Cameroon’s Lemongo Toumbou to thrash the Madagascan pair of Mialy Ranaivo and Corrine Ranaivo 6-0, 6-0 and move into the quarterfinals without breaking a sweat.

Quadre and Lemongo, who are seeking their third doubles title on the ITF Junior Circuit, set the tone for the match in the very first game and maintained a rhythm which the Ranaivo sisters couldn’t live with.

They raced to a 6-0 win in the first set, and kept their foot on the gas to close out the second set in identical fashion.

Up next for Quadre and Lemongo is the Moroccan duo of Yasmine Kabbaj and Doha Zeghlouli, whom they will face on Wednesday. The home hopefuls defeated the South African pair of Megan Basson and Delien Kleinhans, who were seeded second, 6-3, 6-3 to make progress.
