The 2nd edition of the Zenith Bank ‘Next Generation’ Junior Tennis Masters will get under way in the city of Lagos from 10 June – 15 June at the National Tennis Centre in Surulere.

The junior tournament, hosted by the International Tennis Academy and a part of the ITA Junior Circuit, will assist junior players transiting into the senior level, most especially for the CBN Senior Open which will also take place in the month of June.

The hard-court event, which will be played using the pro set format, will be contested by the best 16 players in the country in the Boys and Girls 18 and Under category, with 8 players for each category, competing in a round-robin format.

Phillip Abayomi is the defending champion in the boys category, having defeated Godsgift Timibra in last year’s final, while teenage sensation, Oyinlomo Quadre, who’s currently at a High Performance Centre in Casablanca, Morocco, clinched the girls title, with victory over Toyin Asogba in the final.
